Christmas With Aloha

When traditional Christmas settings are mentioned, Hawaii might be the last place to come to mind. If you come to Hawaii during the Christmas, you may see palm trees alongside the road that have been decorated with Christmas lights. People attend church in aloha shirts and mu'umu’u dresses. Instead of having dinner inside with the fire going and stockings hanging above, the people the Hawaii celebrate with luaus and picnics at the beach, wearing leis and Santa hats. Our kids were told that Santa Claus doesn't ride with his reindeer and come down the chimney on Christmas Eve, because Santa rides in a red canoe pulled by dolphins. We felt so blessed to spend the holiday in Hawaii last Christmas and I'm so thankful for my beautiful family and the lovely memories we built. We love you, Hawaii!
