How to to Wear Your Summer Clothes This Fall - 2

I'm not ready to say goodbye to summer yet! Especially in a beautiful sunny day! Rather than retire my LK Bennett white sandal and the match clutch, I'm adding a red leather jacket and a black lace pencil skirt to make them work well into fall.  So don't retire your cream-hued bag just because the leaves are changing. Carry it with darker, solid separates for a fall-appropriate look. As I mentioned in my last post, as you transition your wardrobe, start dabbling in fall’s signature hues like black and red. If it's a chilly cloudy day, no problem! Just simply switch with some dark accessories like a black handbag, black booties or tights. (Or this bear hat? Just kidding!) Throw on opaque tights under your pretty dress or skirt, and your friends will be too distracted by your put-together ensemble to notice just how familiar it actually is.

My first layer, the peplum top and the lace pencil skirt were all from summer. I love to utilize pieces I already own and mix them in with new to create a fresh and updated look as we make the transition from summer to fall. I love to pair lace with leather.  Feminine lace skirts or dresses look great with edgy, rockerish leather jackets—it creates the perfect soft-hard balance.
